Freskon 2025 offers a unique opportunity to showcase the products of the primary sector fresh fruit and vegetables creating greater visibility and potential for commercial partnerships. This was the message conveyed by the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Kostas Tsiaras, during this evening\u2019s official opening ceremony.<\/p>

Mr. Tsiaras emphasized that Freskon represents a chance to return to the basics and reassess the country\u2019s core productive capacity through a modern lens shaped by today\u2019s evolving conditions. He referred to a primary sector defined by a challenging and uncertain era, facing the consequences of the climate crisis and a shifting landscape in the European and global markets developments that pose serious concerns about the added value we seek for Greek agricultural products.<\/p>

Commenting on his visit to the exhibition, the Minister noted the impressive participation and the very high level of exhibitors present.<\/p>

The importance of the agricultural sector to Poland was highlighted by the Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Michal Kolodziejczak, who noted that Poland selected a fruit\u2014the apple as the symbolic emblem of its EU Council Presidency this semester. He added that apples are a point of national pride, as Poland is the largest apple producer in Europe and the fourth largest in the world.<\/p>

Expressing satisfaction with Poland\u2019s participation in one of the most significant fruit and vegetable exhibitions in the Balkans and Southeastern Europe, Mr. Kolodziejczak emphasized that, in challenging times, the Polish presidency has selected security including food security as its foundational priority. As he noted, ensuring global food sufficiency remains a core mission of agriculture.<\/p>

The Region of Central Macedonia is participating in Freskon 2025 with 26 companies, as announced by the Regional Governor, Mrs. Athina Aidona. She described the exhibition as a key event for the primary sector and the fresh produce industry, and one of the most important in the Balkans and Southeastern Europe. She emphasized that the Region of Central Macedonia produces high-quality fruit and vegetables and is the leading Greek region in terms of agricultural production and food exports.<\/p>

Mr. Panagiotis Orfanos, Director of Froutonea magazine, also spoke about the significance of Freskon for the sector of fresh produce.<\/p>

Mr. Theodoros Dimitriadis, CEO of O.MIND CREATIVES, highlighted the importance of Freskon for the industry, noting that the simultaneous hosting of the Logistics & Transports Expo Thessaloniki complements the fresh produce sector.<\/p>

President of TIF-HELEXPO, Mr. Tasos Tzikas, spoke about the scale and legacy of Freskon, affirming its growth trajectory and commending Poland\u2019s significant participation this year. He underscored that the scope of Freskon is strategic for the country.<\/p>

The Freskon International Trade Event for Fresh Fruit and Vegetables\u2014the premier meeting point for producers, retail groups, and traders in Greece and abroad\u2014runs until April 12, featuring 275 exhibitors from 22 countries.<\/p>

Entrance is limited to trade visitors and professionals.<\/p>
