Gregory Lang
Professor Emeritus of Tree Fruit Physiology at Michigan State University
Gregory Lang is a Professor Emeritus of Tree Fruit Physiology at Michigan State University, a Fellow of the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS), and the Education Director for the International Fruit Tree Association (IFTA).
He holds a BSc from University of Georgia and an MSc and PhD from the University of California-Davis. Dr. Lang’s research has been instrumental in advancing the physiological understanding and adoption of dwarfing precocious rootstocks and protective covering systems for sweet cherries, and advancing innovations in labor-efficient tree training and orchard systems suitable for mechanization and robotic technologies.
He has published more than 200 research and industry articles and 7 books, and is the recipient of numerous awards for Distinguished Research and Extension (IFTA 2001; Italian Academy of Agriculture 2019; ASHS 2017, 2019; APS 2020). Greg travels extensively to speak on fruit production practices, and to exchange ideas and experiences with growers and scientists worldwide.
