Jorge Pedro Rosa Duarte

Jorge Pedro Rosa Duarte is a Portuguese agronomist and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in small-fruit cultivation and agri-business consulting. CEO of Hortitool Consulting Lda. since 2015, he has led multidisciplinary teams in 10 countries and advised on more than 1,500 hectares of berry production.

A graduate of the University of Algarve, Jorge co-authored “Growing Berries in Substrate,” a reference work for modern berry systems, and helped introduce several new berry varieties to Portugal. He co-organized the Morocco Berry Conference, contributes to scientific committees, and teaches masterclasses for growers, technicians, and investors across Europe, Caucasus and North Africa. 

Through technical training programs, field audits, and strategic advisory projects, he connects cutting-edge science with practical on-farm decisions. Passionate about innovation, data, and sustainability, Jorge works to help berry businesses increase profitability while improving resource efficiency, fruit quality, and long-term soil and substrate health. He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English.
